Brooklyn Play Date

Alex and I got to spend and entire morning/afternoon with Amanda, ZZ and Mimi in their Brooklyn apartment. It was perfect for Alex because he got to go a bit crazy and have fun. I don't think Amanda was quite prepared for how much energy he has--I think his energy level equals that of her two sweet girls combined. But, we had a great time and the kids really enjoyed each other.

Meeting of the Cousins

Alan's first cousin, Sara Abernathy, lives in Brooklyn not far from my sister, Stacey. We wanted to visit Sara while we were in the city, but we were waiting for contact info from Carolina. However, the powers that be were not letting us wait to make contact. We took Alex to a David Byrne concert in Prospect Park on Monday night and literally bumped into Sara amidst the thousands of spectators. Alex immediatly took to her (she looks quite a bit like his Aunt Carolina) and we luckily got to see her again while we were there.

Arkville, New York with Aunt Stacey and Uncle Chris

We are visiting Stacey and Chris in New York and spent today in Arkville at their home upstate. We visited the farmer's market where some rouge child attempted to hit Alex with a roundhouse to the right (but Alex just looked at him as if he was crazy), we ate an amazing breakfast at the Inn Between (where Alan and Stacey each ordered the "combo" a plate that came with two eggs, bacon, pancakes, potatoes, AND French toast), we went to an auction house that serves the most amazing homemade ice cream (I had maple walnut, Alan had a vanilla cone, Stacey had sweet tea, and Chris had a strawberry cone. . . Alex had all of the above), and we spent a wonderful lazy afternoon on the front porch watching the world go by. I will upload more photos when we return, but wanted to share some now.
