The hat is still going strong

Alan brought this hat back from Feria three years ago. It has withstood Alan crushing it in luggage from Spain, Alex stepping on it, and me almost losing it. Through all its trials, it has survived and is one of Alex's favorite things!

Sledding and Snow Ball Fights

Juan, Alan, Alex, Ayden and Alan Albright went sledding today in our 8 inches of snow. This was Juan and Alex's first time to sled. The snow was dry, which made sledding a bit difficult, but we still had a lot of fun.

Snow Day

Today is Juan's birthday and we got to enjoy a snow day! This morning, we had about 2 inches of snow and played outside. The snow is really coming down now and we have about 4 inches. We expect about three more inches before it is over. This is the first time that Juan has actually seen snow coming down. Interesting birthday present!

Cool Dude

Tio Juan brought these cool, 3D glasses that Alex loves! Juan has definitely become Alex's new toy. Luckily, Juan is very patient with Alex!

What NOT to let your child put in your garbage disposal!

A few days ago, I heard a strange noise when I flipped on the garbage disposal. It sounded like it was grinding up a spoon. I have heard this noise before, so I checked in the disposal and did not find anything out of place. I figured it was probably a seed or something that got stuck in there and would eventually go away. Last night, the sound was much worse. Alan took over the inspection and initially pulled out a little plastic piece that looked like the seats of a car. I thought maybe it was a lego that had gotten dropped in there by mistake. Then, he pulled out what looked like the undercarriage of a car. Then wheels. Then little chunks of a car frame. Luckily, he was laughing at this point and was excited to find every piece of what was once a hot wheels car. Alex has recently started "helping" by putting things in the sink. We now have a stopper in the sink to catch any other items that Alex thinks need to be washed!

Birthday Present

Today was my birthday. We had dinner and cake with my family. When we got home from the festivities, Alex ran for his guitar and started singing "Happy Birthday, Mama" while strumming along. It was the best present ever!

New Camera

I got my Christmas present from Alan and Alex early--a Nikon D5000 digital SLR camera. I LOVE it and will therefore be posting even more obsessively as I take better pictures. Hope you enjoy these photos.
