Squishy Nose

Alex loves opening the doors to the cabinet where all of our electronics are hidden. After months of trying every "baby lock" on the market to no avail, I finally figured out using an elastic hair tie (which works perfectly). These pictures were taken while the doors were still "unlocked" and Alex still had free reign! No more (poor little guy)!

New "Trick"

Alex has learned a new trick, much to my dismay. Whenever he is walking next to me, holding my hand, and he sees something he wants he just lets his whole body go limp. For example, we just got home and while we were walking through the garage, Alex spotted both his motorized Harley tricycle and his guitar. Halfway between them, he just let his whole body go limp, forcing me to either pick him up and take him inside or let him have what he wanted. I chose the first for a moment and then I relented, allowing him to have what he wanted (he is a bit spoiled). The funny thing was that it took him a moment to decide between the two. He started for the guitar only to change direction suddenly in favor of the tricycle.

I guess it could be worse. He could be one of those screamers who demand at decibles higher than any human should be able to create what they want. Luckily, he is a quiet demander, for now.

Musician and audience all in one!

Daredevil

Alex is a daredevil. He is not afraid to run and jump off of anything. We used to be able to keep up with him and stop him before impending doom. However, he has learned to outrun his parents. We have just decided that until he learns a healthy sense of fear, he will have scrapes, bumps, bruises and the like.

Yoga with Mama

Alex tries to do all the yoga poses with me (and he is much nore flexible)!

Blackberry Bandit

Each night, Alex and I pick blackberries in the backyard and he tries to eat as many as I pick. I limit him to 8 blackberries, much to his chagrin. Tonight, he ran inside with his little pail of berries. He thought he was hiding from me as he started stuffing berries in his mouth! What can I say, he takes after his mama.

Alex is in love

While I did not get photographic proof, I can say whole heartedly that Alex is in love with our good friend, Leah. Leah came to visit last night and Alex bestowed upon her a plethora of hugs. Those of you who know Alex know that he does not hug adults frequently. However, he was mesmerized by Leah and flowered her with adoration (and kept making her take her shoes off and on, a strange obsession he has). He looked upon Leah's fiance, Mark, however, with trepidation as if Mark might edge in on his action. It was pretty cute. Maybe next time I will get proof!

Happy Mama

When we bought Alex his potty, we really didn't think he would even get the idea for several more months. He proved us wrong! Today, a mere week since we bought the potty, he peed twice and pooped once in the potty! He came to me each time and let me know he needed to go. I am pretty excited (and never imagined that I would be happily blogging about poop and pee)! Since I am certain that you are all completely interested in what kind of potty Alex got, check it out www.booninc.com/products/PottyBench
